Dr. Karsten Schlageter is an industrial engineer and has worked at ABO Wind since 2013. Initially, as General Manager, he played a key role in developing the company's international business strategy. He has been a member of the Managing Board since October 2018. As of 2022, he acts as the Managing Board's spokesperson. Before joining ABO Wind, Dr Schlageter built up the renewable energy business in Peru for EnBW. Prior to that, he worked in management consultancies.
Dr. Jochen Ahn holds a doctorate in physical chemistry. Together with Matthias Bockholt, he founded the company in 1996. The company's then complicated (and not very SEO-friendly) name was later changed to ABO Wind AG (short for "Ahn & Bockholt") when it became a stock corporation. The families of both founders are majority shareholders and each own about 26 per cent of the stock. They both actively manage the company as Managing Directors. Before starting his own business, Ahn had worked as an expert for wind energy at the Ministry of the Environment of the German state of Hesse.
Matthias Bockholt studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Bingen and wrote his Master thesis on photovoltaic systems. After his graduation, he started working at the Hessian Ministry of Environment, where his task was to evaluate solar energy projects. There he met Dr. Jochen Ahn, with whom he started today's ABO Wind AG, at the age of 30.
The company's first employee in 1996 was fundamentally involved in building up the company. He was at first responsible for project development and contracts; later, he set up the first foreign subsidiaries. He lead the Technical Engineering Division including Site Assessments, Construction, Electrical Engineering, and Purchasing of Wind Turbines for many years before becoming a Managing Director in 2022.
Susanne von Mutius initially started out in the banking sector (project financing and international leasing) and then worked for a manufacturer of solar modules. She has been with ABO Wind since 2012, where her focus has been Project Financing and Sales in Germany and several foreign markets for many years. After leading the Financing Division for many years, she became the company's first female Managing Director in 2022.
Alexander Reinicke also startet out in the banking sector (M&A, microfinance - institutional building). He joined ABO Wind in 2006, and initially worked in Project Financing and Sales. Then he built up the company's Controlling Department and was Head of Corporate Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and Human Resources for twelve years before becoming Managing Director in 2022.
