ABO Wind has already installed around 750 wind turbines with a total output of around 1,800 megawatts worldwide. 300 turbines were built in forest sites. This makes us the leading developer for this demanding task in environmentally sensitive areas. At ABO Wind, our various specialist departments work together to ensure that wind turbines are erected quickly and produce as much clean electricity as possible.
Expertise from many disciplines is required to plan a wind farm and connect it to the grid. At ABO Wind, our internal experts for planning, site and impact assessment, financing, civil and electrical engineering work hand in hand. The responsible project managers accompany the project from the first discussion with the landowners to commissioning. Each project manager coordinates the work of the specialist departments throughout the entire planning process and is personally available to all stakeholders.
10xNordex N131, 33 MW, commissioned in 2016:
Together with our adjacent wind farm Dreieck Spreeau (8xVestas V150, 33.6 MW, commissioned in 2021), we developed and implemented a total of 66 MW at the site. The existence of renewable energy plants made the area attractive for Tesla to build their new Gigafactory for electric vehicles nearby.
2xNordex N149, 9 MW, commissioned in 2018:
In this Repowering project, we doubled the capacity at the site by dismantling four older wind turbine generators and replacing them by two brand new prototype turbines with 4.5 MW each.
4xNordex N117, 14.4 MW, commissioning in 2021:
in part by a local citizens’ cooperative which holds 25 percent of the wind farm. Direct participation and opportunities for financial investment increase local and overall acceptance of renewable energy projects. ABO Wind offers a variety of participation options, for example investment options with annual interest payout, closed citizens’ funds, or cooperation with energy cooperatives.
4xNordex N80 & 9xNordex N90, 32.5 MW, commissioned in 2011:
Our experienced commercial experts were able to secure financing and therefore to kick off construction of our then largest wind farm during the height of the financial crisis.
9xVestas V126, 29.7 MW, commissioned in 2015&2017:
Our first Finish wind farm in the cold climate of Northern Europe was constructed in 2015 and the second part in 2017. Finland has become one of our most important markets. In Finland, ABO Wind also signed a first long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Kokkoneva wind farm (45 megawatts; 9xNordex N149) in 2020.
