Kinesis Enerji and ABO Wind will connect a 50 megawatts-wind farm to the grid in Spain

Spain

(Wiesbaden, December 19, 2019) ABO Wind reports another success from Spain. KE-RENINVESTMENT S.A.U., a Madrid based sister company of the Turkish energy company Kinesis Enerji, has acquired the Andella wind energy project (50 megawatts) located in the Castilla y León region. The partners expect to connect the wind farm to the grid in 2022.

The Andella project already has a grid connection, secured land and preparatory studies are available. Applications for environmental and building permits have been submitted. ABO Wind will develop the project until it is ready for construction at the beginning of 2021 and provide services to the buyer for financing solutions. As a service provider, ABO Wind is also responsible for the design of the park layout, the purchase of the turbines and construction supervision.

This year ABO Wind has sold wind and solar projects in Spain with a total capacity of 500 megawatts at lucrative conditions. "This is thanks to the outstanding work of our project development team in Valencia," says Managing Director Dr. Karsten Schlageter. "Our activities in Spain are now contributing to the entrepreneurial success of the ABO Wind Group with gratifying consistency. ABO Wind has been developing wind farms in Spain for 18 years – since 2015 with significantly growing success. "To the contentment of our excellent Spanish colleagues and for our position in the Spanish market, it is good news that we will also be involved in the construction of the Andella wind farm".

In Spain, ABO Wind is currently working on the development of further wind and solar parks with an output of around 1,000 megawatts. A large part of these already have a grid connection secured, which is currently difficult to obtain in Spain due to the high demand.

Kinesis Enerji is a highly reputable investor operating 90 megawatts of renewable projects in Turkey which are subsidized by the public feed-in tariff mechanism. Kinesis Enerji is also engaged with subsidy-free solar and wind projects at various stages of development in Spain and Italy. Including the Andella wind energy project, the portfolio of the company in these two countries has reached 200 megawatts.
