Wind Energy
Since the beginning of the 1990’s, statutory guidelines have been set
in many countries to establish a framework for the use of wind energy.
Years of experience and technical innovations have led to an enormous
increase in the percentage of power that is generated by wind energy.
Power from wind energy already makes up about 5 percent of the total
power generated in Europe today and this tendency is continually
rising.

The cost-effectiveness and the output capacities of wind farms have
also greatly improved. The standard installed capacity of a wind farm
is now between 1.5 and 2.5 megawatts. New prototypes with a capacity of
up to 5 megawatts are now being tested.
