Wind Energy in Spain
Wind power has become a very important source of energy in
Spain. For example, on March 19, 2007 at 5:40 pm – 8.375 megawatts of
energy was generated. (Source: REE Red Electrica Espanola 2006)
This represents almost 27 percent of the total amount of energy used in
the whole country and set a new record for the generation of power from
a clean energy system. At the moment, Spain ranks second worldwide for
its amount of installed capacity of wind power, still well behind first
ranked Germany but more than the USA.
According to the most current statistics taken in mid-2006, the total
installed capacity of wind power is 10,941 megawatts. The regions of
Galicia and Castile-La Mancha with 21.95 percent and 19.83 percent
respectively, have the highest amount of installed wind power. By 2010,
Spain plans to reach its goal of 20,155 megawatts of installed
capacity. top

ABO Wind ESPAÑA S.A. (“Sociedad Anónima" - S.A. is similar to a
corporation) in Spain with its headquarters in Valencia.
The company consists of a team with many years of experience in the
Spanish wind power industry. We contract sites and develop wind farms
of various sizes, take care of all the technical and managerial
operations and build turnkey wind farms.
At the moment, ABO Wind ESPAÑA S.A. is working with diverse communities
on mini-farm projects that have a more simplified authorisation
